"Mission Peru" is an Iona-led mission trip to assist poor families in Peruvian poverty areas. This journey taught me a lot about the lives and cultures of the people who live there. One thing that particularly struck me was the lack of running water. This made me reflect on all of the things I take for granted on a daily basis, such as running water. For myself, I couldn't imagine living without running water or many of the other luxuries we take for granted in this part of the world, yet this is the reality for hundreds of millions of people. This is why it is critical to raise awareness of the issue. Those who live in this way can get the help they need and lead easier, better lives because of it.
